Julie Ponce, M.S.W., L.M.S.W

Julie Ponce, M.S.W., L.M.S.W., is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. With a compassionate heart and a deep understanding of trauma and its effects on the nervous system, Julie offers clients a safe and supportive space to explore their experiences and reclaim their sense of wholeness.

Julie is a dedicated EMDR and Polyvagal therapist, committed to guiding individuals on their journey towards healing and self-discovery. Drawing from her extensive training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Julie helps clients process and integrate past traumas, allowing them to release negative beliefs and emotions that have been holding them back. Her approach is gentle yet effective, empowering clients to tap into their innate resilience and move towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.

As a therapist rooted in the Polyvagal approach, Julie recognizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. She incorporates principles from the Polyvagal theory to help clients regulate their nervous systems, reduce anxiety, and cultivate a greater sense of safety and connection within themselves and with others. Through techniques such as breathwork, mindfulness, and somatic experiencing, she assists clients in accessing their body’s innate wisdom and restoring equilibrium.

Julie’s dedication to her clients goes beyond the therapy room. She is deeply committed to ongoing learning and professional growth. She stays abreast of the latest research and developments in trauma therapy, ensuring that her clients receive the most effective and compassionate care possible.

Julie holds her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Work from Indiana University. Her previous work experience involved extensive work within the Child Welfare realm, including as a caseworker for Child Protective Services in Indiana and home-based family therapist.
