Melissa (Missy) Katcher, M.S.W., L.L.M.S.W. is a limited licensed social worker specializing in facing anxiety, adjusting to life transitions, improving self-esteem, building healthy habits, and using art and movement to release limiting beliefs and explore inner wisdom. Joining CFSC as a clinical therapist in April 2021, Missy brings over a decade of experience supporting adolescents and parents on their individual and family journeys. She has successfully run group programs for teens and parents to improve family relationships, support academic success, improve anger management skills, and empower girls to overcome perceived gender limits. Missy partners with clients to create a personalized plan drawing from treatment modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, habit-building practices, movement therapy, journaling, and art.

Missy’s warm, empathetic presence instantly helps both parents and teens feel comfortable. Missy sees you as the expert of your own experience. She is honored to be invited to witness your truth and responds with a commitment to partner with each individual on their journey to uncover their own unique, highest potential. Missy has a lifelong love for learning and is always training to incorporate current and relevant evidence-based techniques into her practice.

Missy earned her Bachelor of Social Work and Master’s of Social Work from Wayne State University. While completing her hours required for full licensure, Melissa works under the direct supervision of Laura Johnson-Hughes, L.M.S.W. In her free time, she enjoys the great outdoors, hiking, running, camping and anything to do with the water, painting, sewing, play and travel with her three children and husband, and good conversations.
