Kim Kozaczynski, L.M.S.W., S.S.W., is a licensed clinical social worker specializing in working with children, teens, and families. Kim’s areas of focus include anxiety, depression. ADHD, school refusal, Autism Spectrum behaviors, social skills training, friendship building, building executive processing skills such as organization, improving focus, giftedness, and working with children that struggle with behavioral outbursts at home and/or school. In addition to Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Behavior Therapy, some of Kim’s favorite strategies include play and art based therapy and self-calming strategies such as yoga, journaling, and meditation.

Kim has worked over the last decade with teachers, children and their families in school settings. Kim has helped parents navigate the Special Education process and has implemented successful behavioral interventions for children that address a wide range of behavioral issues. Kim’s knowledge of special education law has allowed for her to become a strong advocate for parents when the need arises. Kim also volunteers through Beaumont Hospital’s Parenting Program helping new families adjust to being parents for the first time. She provides support to families individually and in groups and speaks for the program on child development and temperament as well on the importance of play, learning and reading in those first years.

Kim is a member of the Michigan School Social Workers Association and both the Michigan and National Association of Social Workers. She also possesses a professional Michigan teachers certificate.

Kim received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn in Elementary Education with a major in Early Childhood Education and a master’s degree in social work from Wayne State University.
