Andrew Gladstone-Highland, M.S.W., L.M.S.W.  is a licensed clinical social worker who is experienced working with younger children and their families, teenagers, individual adults, and couples. His areas of specialty include anxiety and depression, behavioral challenges, grief and loss, and trauma. He practices evidence-based strategies and approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), play therapy, family systems, and Child-Parent Psychotherapy. He has worked in collaboration with pre-schools and elementary schools, helping guide parents and schools with effective interventions and accommodation plans.

Andrew is especially passionate about working with boys and men, since many things in our culture discourage males from dealing with their feelings in healthy ways. He has developed and led a workshop for dads, encouraging men to understand their own experiences and feelings so that they can be positive influences in the lives of their children.

Andrew received his Bachelor’s degree in History from Duke University, and his Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Additionally, in between those two experiences, Andrew received a Master’s degree from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, and spent about ten years working with non-profit organizations and the United Methodist Church. He also spent several years as an adjunct instructor at several different community colleges, including Oakland Community College. In his free time, Andrew enjoys being with his family, travelling, watching movies, and being outside.

Andrew is currently accepting new referrals, including both weekdays and Saturdays. He offers daytime, late afternoon, and evening appointments to accommodate his clients’ busy schedules.
